As part of the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Embassy of India, Baghdad organized the 2nd curtain raiser event on May 1, under this year’s theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’.

A curtain raiser event for the 11th International Day of Yoga-25 was organised on April 23. A great enthusiasm was observed among the Iraqi Yoga practitioners.

On February 10, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi, accompanied by Consul General, Erbil Madan Gopal, visited the Halabja Hospital in Iraqi Kurdistan to hand over the consignment of medicines, gifted by the Government of India as part of ‘India for Humanity’ initiative.

Omed Xoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Mr. Noori Othman, Chief of Staff to the President & Mr. Shaban Chali, Head of the Office of PM of the Kurdistan Region also graced the occasion.
On January 28, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi called on H.E. Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan.
On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, the Baghdad Mall’s Digital Tower, a popular building in the heart of the city, was illuminated in tricolour.
