The Embassy of India in Baghdad organized the 5th pre-#IDY25 yoga session on May 14, 2025, in collaboration with Babylon Mall, as part of the celebrations leading up to the International Day of Yoga 2025.

The 7th pre-#IDY25 yoga session was a burst of energy and inspiration! It took place on 23 May 2025 at Dr. Lumma Hossni Center, Baghdad, bringing together a vibrant mix of sports coaches, life coaches, passionate travelers and Iraqi yoga lovers ! Led by “Guru-shishya” Indian Yoga Expert Dr. Dheeraj Joshi and Noor Younus (Yoga TTC Trainee), the session embodied this year’s theme: Yoga for One Earth, One Health.
The 6th pre-#IDY25 yoga session was organized by the Embassy of India, in collaboration with Faize Husaini Association in Karbala, on 18 May 2025, as part of the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025.
Ambassador Soumen Bagchi along with officials of Indian Embassy visited the holy shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf province on 15 May 2025.
On May 15, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi along with officials of Indian Embassy called on H.E. Mr. Yousif Makki Gannawi, Governor of Najaf Al-Ashraf province.
On May 15, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi along with officials of Indian Embassy called on H.E. Mr. Hussein Al Esaawi, Chairman of Najaf Provincial Council.
As the countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2025 continues, the Embassy of India in Baghdad, in collaboration with the American University of Iraq–Baghdad (AUIB), organized the 4th pre-#IDY25 yoga session.
As part of the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Embassy organized third inspiring pre #IDY25 yoga session on May 8 at Al-Ufaq Primary School. Teachers and students came together to embrace this year’s theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, promoting wellness, balance, and unity.

As part of the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Embassy of India, Baghdad organized the 2nd curtain raiser event on May 1, under this year’s theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’.
On May 6, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended a farewell lunch for the outgoing Consul General Madan Gopal, hosted by Mr. Fawzi Hariri, President of the Diwan – Office of the KRG President, and Mr. Falah Mustafa, Advisor to the KRG President.
On April 29, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi met H.E. Delan Ghafoor Salih (MP), Head of Foreign Relations Parliamentary Committee.
A curtain raiser event for the 11th International Day of Yoga-25 was organised on April 23. A great enthusiasm was observed among the Iraqi Yoga practitioners.
On 16-17 April, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended Sulaimani Forum 2025 in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
On 22 April, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi met Dr. Yousif Mohanad, Medical Director of Watan NGO Organization.
