As part of the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Embassy organized third inspiring pre #IDY25 yoga session on May 8 at Al-Ufaq Primary School. Teachers and students came together to embrace this year’s theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, promoting wellness, balance, and unity.

As the countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2025 continues, the Embassy of India in Baghdad, in collaboration with the American University of Iraq–Baghdad (AUIB), organized the 4th pre-#IDY25 yoga session.
On May 07, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi called on H.E. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government(KRG).
On May 06, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended the farewell reception of Sh. Madan Gopal, Consul General, Erbil.
On May 6, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended a farewell lunch for the outgoing Consul General Madan Gopal, hosted by Mr. Fawzi Hariri, President of the Diwan – Office of the KRG President, and Mr. Falah Mustafa, Advisor to the KRG President.
As part of the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2025, the Embassy of India, Baghdad organized the 2nd curtain raiser event on May 1, under this year’s theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’.
On April 29, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi met H.E. Delan Ghafoor Salih (MP), Head of Foreign Relations Parliamentary Committee.
A curtain raiser event for the 11th International Day of Yoga-25 was organised on April 23. A great enthusiasm was observed among the Iraqi Yoga practitioners.
On 16-17 April, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended Sulaimani Forum 2025 in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
On 22 April, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi met Dr. Yousif Mohanad, Medical Director of Watan NGO Organization.
On April 08, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi called on H.E. Dr. Dindar Zebari, Coordinator for International Advocacy, Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq.
On 27 March, Indian culture came alive in Indian Cultural Night, organised by the Embassy in collaboration with Babylon Mall on the occasion of Ramadan.
On March 25, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi met with Major General Balasem Muhammad Hasan (DG Diplomatic Police).
On March 17, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi attended a memorial event at the Peace Palace in Baghdad to commemorate the anniversary of the 1988 Halabja genocide. The President of Iraq Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid along with National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji, several members of the Parliament and heads of diplomatic missions in Baghdad, were also present at the ceremony
On 08 March, the Embassy of India, Baghdad organized a fitness & enlightenment session of yoga for the Iraqi women on the occasion of International women’s Day.
On February 19, Ambassador Soumen Bagchi called on H.E. Dr. Basem Hattab Al-Tu'ma, Dean of Foreign Service Institute, MoFA
