India to host FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2017 in October 2017

India will be hosting FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2017 in October 2017. The matches will be played in major cities like Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata and New Mumbai. The opening ceremony of this event will be held in New Delhi on 6th October, 2017 while the final match will be held in Kolkata on 28th October, 2017. The tournament has been notified as an event of national significance by Government of India. Prime Minister of India would be presiding over the opening ceremony of it in New Delhi.

The teams from following countries would be participating in the event: , Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Guinea, Honduras, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Korea DPR, Mali, Mexico, New Caledonia, New Zealand Niger, Paraguay, Spain, Turkey, USA. The event is likely to attract tourists and football fans not only from the participating countries but also from other football playing countries. This is a unique opportunity for the tourists to familiarize with the Indian culture.
